In the Dugout with Matt – 24.01.15

Good afternoon everyone and welcome to today’s game here at Long Lane Park. Today we play Shifnal Town and I would like to welcome all club officials, players and fans and wish them a safe journey home after the game.

Fortunately despite the weather we did manage to get the match on on Tuesday evening, in the Midweek Floodlit Cup, and got a victory – bouncing us through to the semi-finals. I am immensely proud of the lads. Hard work paying off! We are continuing to build some momentum which has certainly not been for the faint hearted! I look at the team and the club overall and know, are we in a better position than a year ago! Of course in the league we would like to be higher and away from the relegation zone, although we have been constant for some time now. I do believe that if we continue to play the way we have been recently, this will be achievable.
We will continue to work hard to keep improving.

Today is a return to league action. I feel that good cup runs have improved our confidence and reaching semi-final status is another great boost. As always you as supporters should be confident in the knowledge that the lads will be doing everything in their power, as will I, to take us forward.

I hope you all enjoy the game.
