The lockmen turned in a much more cohesive display, and mostly dominated this friendly against higher ranked AFC Wulfrunians, losing to one of a handful of shots at their goal.  The keeper produced a fine save in the first minute, pushing over an angled drive for the game’s first corner.  On 11 minutes The lockmen offered their first threat when trialist Chad Birch almost got onto a through ball but was eased off the ball.  He then broke well on 16 minutes and forced a great save from Wulfs keeper, the loose ball found its way to Toubani maxwell who worked space for a shot which cleared the bar.  The Reds saw a good effort blocked before the visitors won a corner which was cleared.  Birch fired another effort goalwards on 33 minutes, but this was always heading beyond the post.  Fine work from the impressive Curtis Ellis set up Birch, but again his effort flew just beyond the far post.

The visitos forced a save from The Lockmen keeper 0n 50 minutes before they got wwhat would prove to be the winner three minutes later.  The home defence had the chance to clear down the flankbut were caught in possession, a quick cross in saw the keeper make a super save, but Jordan followed up to net with little opposition and the keeper grounded.  On 72 the home side saw a free-kick punched clear before Curtis Ellis saw a good effort just miss.  Another free-kick wa headed clear on 75 minutes before a couple of shots were blocked by the visitors.  Birch, who had been replaced at half-time, returned to force two more good one-on-one saves in the last few minutes, as he, and The Lockmen, found their luck in front of goal out.
