The Lockmen got off to a flyer when new player-manager Mark Habbershaw netted after seventy seconds, firing home from a long throw-in. The Lockmen then forced a couple of corners before winning a free-kick on 9 minutes. Taken by the player-manager, it hit the post. Alex Causer forced a good low save on 12 minutes before winning a couple of corners, the second of which bou nced awkwardly for the defence and had to be scrambled off the line. habbershaw then forced successive corners, the first being from a shot blocked on the line before Darren Williams headed wide. Habbershaw then turned well and shot on 19 minutes, but again it was just off target. Two minutes later Habbershaw tried to set up Chad Birch but they could only gain a corner. Another corner followed on 25 minutes before Birch broke well on 28 minutes, setting up Habbershaw to fire just over. Birch hit the outside of the post as they continued to dominate play on the half hour before Habbershaw fired across goal on 33 minues, Birch unable to get a decisive touch. The home side finally got into their opponents half on 36 minutes, winning a free-kick on the edge of the box which flew high over. Their next break on 40 minutes flew at Harry Radford. There was still time for Birch to put in another dangerous cross, again this was cleared.

Habbershaw then forced a corner at the start off the second-half before both he and Birch were crowded out of shooting positions as The Lockmen appeared determined to see Birch score. Radford finally made a save on 50 minutes, and a fine flying effort it was too. The home side then won a corner sixty seconds later which saw them head a leveller. On 59 minutes a break down the right saw a cross forced home under pressure as Bustleholm took the lead. Willenhall had vanished from the game and on 76 minutes it was no surprise as they conceded a third, a long range shot flying into the corner of the goal. The lockmen forced a corner which was cleared on 78 minutes whilst the home team saw a volley fly over from a half cleared corner on 81 minutes.
