FULL MATCH REPORT
This at times tetchy match finished all square but both sides could justifiably claim it could have been
three points with a little more luck. The home side attacked first and Mikey Clark was unlucky when his low shot was fumbled then grabbed safely by Rangers’ keeper Sheridan Martinez. The visitors then had a goal chalked off on seven minutes when a delightful curling shot from Garfield Robinson was heading into the corner of the net until a team-mate rushed in to hammer home from an off-side position. The home side won a couple of corners and free-kicks but failed to cause any problems for their opposition, the nearest they came saw Craig Sudlow fire inches over. They were pinning back Rangers with a strong wind behind them without creating a real opening. The visitors broke the deadlock on 23 minutes when Tom Edmunds touched home a cross in from the left. Six minutes later Sudlow fired across the face of goal with nobody close to converting the enticing ball. Out of the blue the home side levelled nine minutes from half-time when Wilson saw his corner converted by Tom Turner. Turner then set up Dan Bryson on 39 minutes but his effort was just off target.

With the wind subsiding considerably after half-time it should have made for a better spectacle. Clark had three efforts in the first half of the second period, all off target before on 70 minutes he broke through but crossed instead of shooting. he then saw another effort fly wide The Lockmen picked up three bookings to Rangers’ one in a ten minute spell before former Red-Boy Ross Clarke, now managing Rangers, was dismissed by the official for questioning a decision politely. Eddie Wilson then went on a mazy run across field before cutting back in the opposite direction to create space for an effort which was straight at Martinez. Both sides had a couple of corners and a free-kick apiece in the final fifteen minutes plus the five minutes of stoppage-time but neither side looked like or deserved a winner on their showing after the break.
