The Lockmen let a 3-1 lead slip just before half-time on a difficult day for the home side after the sad passing of their owner Dave Gregory on Friday.
The visitors made the best possible start when debutee Mark Webster did well to hold the ball up before picking out Levi Mulligan on the right and he strode on and fired across Scott Hoof and into the corner. It got even better four minutes later when Liam Hickman was found in the six yard box and he cheekily back-heeled the ball over the line, wrong-footing two defenders and the keeper. Ams halved the deficit on 16 minutes when a break down the left saw Matthew Elsmore net. Chris Adamson made a fine block for Willenhall and the home side saw two shots fly wide. Five minutes before the break Hickman grabbed his second goal when he latched onto a woeful back-pass to round the keeper and roll home. On 43 minutes, the home side netted with a stunning goal when a long ball from half-way was brilliantly flicked first time by Tom Worthington past Adamson. Sixty seconds later and Mark Perry levelled for Welly when his shot from distance crept in at the post.
The second-half by comparison was quiet and it was on 67 minutes before the home side took the lead when James Elsmore lost his marker in the box and somehow found the top corner with his header. On 90 minutes the visitors made it five when another break was finished.
